Procedure
Most projects break down into four basic phases.
The Brief.
The first step is a meeting to discuss the scope of the project
and the nature of the services required. From this we can
develop an outline plan, identifying the major decorative,
technical and financial considerations.
The Concept Phase.
Once we have agreed the brief, Mary and her team will develop
a selection of ideas covering all areas of the project. On
a small job this may simply be samples and images of furniture,
furnishings and accessories, whereas on a larger project the
design team will produce detailed drawings and specifications. This culminates in the provision of detailed estimates for
all works.
Mary is flexible and clients may participate as much or as
little as they wish. The important point is that the design
will be specific to their needs and Mary is careful to listen
to them and help turn their ideas into reality.
The Administration Phase.
Once the estimates have been agreed and accepted Mary can
co-ordinate the overall project, including purchasing, supervision
of work and installation. Mary will also help the client to
buy antiques, rugs, works of art, and accessories for the
home.
The Post Contract Phase.
After practical completion of the works Mary will monitor
the project during the defects period if required, and prepare
or scrutinise invoices. She will also assist the client with
any extra works which may be required, along with the purchase
of the final accessories and other items which turn a house
into a home.
